Friend side swiped by dog on Victory Road

This is a video of a dog running into the front wheel of my friend while out riding near Franklin, Georgia.  My friend was ok - a few scrapes, but was able to ride the remainder of distance back to my house.  Not sure what happened to the dog.  We should have slowed down when we saw the dog running out to the road, but before this incident all dogs I'd encountered always stopped or ran along side the bike.
