“It’s about respect, mate, it’s about respect.” – Drivers excuse for close pass

Driver didn’t like waiting for a couple of seconds behind me when I signalled a left turn, takes an opportunity to close pass me before the intersection. What I gathered was, cyclists ahead on the road of drivers aren’t considered legitimate road users, and cyclists should always revere drivers behind them. Driver apologised with caveats.
