Yet another example to show how bad things can become when the police are uninterested in enforcing traffic law, are excessively forgiving of offences committed by drivers (even taxi drivers), hostile to cyclists and where the regulation of the police is very poor: the Police and Crime Commissioner is essentially useless and the position has been abolished for the future so the PCC is on a long paid holiday. The illegal crossing of the double white line is common in both directions at this humpbacked bridge with poor visibility ahead- this is a recipe for collision, but Lancashire Constabulary will ignore the report. There is also close-passing of the cyclist, but my big worry is the knowledge that a reckless driver seeing an oncoming vehicle straight ahead in the same lane will automatically swerve into the soft-bodied cyclist to his left. Time on the video is GMT.
